6/27/08 Man the grass is growing well this year. Most areas that are going to mat over are now matted. Better than last year for sure. Flipping and ratting are bringing some nice fish. Water temps are mid to upper 80's. Water color is stained in a few places with last weeks local storms, but will clear fast. Water is staying on the low side most of the time. However, here lower is only down a foot or so. Fish are being caught in many locations so it is best to start with your strengths and go from there.

5/20/06 Water temps still 70-72 but this will get higher everyday and fast. Grass is growing well with the most matted grass still above South Sauty. Creek grass in a little behind, at least on the lower lake. However, the real shallow grass in booming. The morning bite can make or break your day as the action tends to slow after 10AM. Then again, I have not fished past 10 the last 2 trips.

5/8/06 Water level has stayed fairly low which is great for the top water bite. Speaking of top water, that's has been very hot using poppers and buzz baits. Grass is growing fast and looking good, be flipping before long. Water color is pretty clear in many places. Areas with current and wind will color up quite a bit. Water temps 69-75 depending on how shallow and how much sun. Most spawning is over and the summer patterns are coming on in.

4/06/06 Water temps are soaring into upper 60's even some low 70's. Grass is doing very well this year with less of a die off during the winter. Most areas are rather clear with the exception to wind blown banks. Plenty of beds are about, some with residents and some not.

Only had a couple of trips with slow results. I guess I better get busy.

We begin a new year on a slow start. Fishing was off for me but I do look for that to change. Water was average level with most area very clear. Water temps were 50 every where. Wind was up a blowing strong on Saturday helping to get water temps up to 52 by days end. Lots of left over grass and it is very tricky to fish, by helping bass scatter. Updates are coming off their typical winter lay ,sorry, but I think it is time to fish a little, ready?
