Sd card lake maps

Postby Blue sprint 286 » Sun Aug 21, 2011 10:26 am

Can anyone tell me about the naviotics or hot map cards? Are they worth having, useful, or show more than your normal lake map? If so which is best and which will have guntersville?

I have a droid smart phone and a eagle fishelete.480 with gps with a card slot that I think should support the naviontics card. I was unsure if it would show more than the normal lake map that I have. I was unaware that there was a droid naviontics ap till you guys let me know, thanks

the app for your phone is less than $15 and the sd cards are about $100. I think they show about as much maybe a little bit more detail than the atlantic maps but the plus is the gps, you know exactly where your sitting...I used just my phone for locations and my sonar to pinpoint for the longest time but now that I have the card I just wish I had a bigger sonar unit...lol...

A few thoughts here. I have both hot maps from navionics, which I bought years ago and I think the one I have has been updated. Here is the new one I believe

http://www.navionics.com/en/hotmaps-platinum-1

This map has helped me on multiple lakes, including Guntersville. But last year I bought lakemaster southeast from humminbird and it has been much more accurate for me at Guntersville. Here is the link:

http://www.humminbird.com/Products/SOUT ... ATES-PLUS/

If I had to choose btw the two on what is best for Guntersville, I would go with lakemaster. It just has a lot more detail that navionics doesn't have. It's been the difference for me on staying on the right spot. Hope that helps.
